On the 29th September 2008, the Bradford & Bingley savings and retail branch business were sold to Abbey Santander, with the remainder of the group taken into public ownership by the Government. The nationalised Bradford & Bingley group therefore now serves a base of existing mortgage, insurance, wealth and protection customers.

Although we are now closed to new mortgage business, all existing insurance, wealth and protection policies and products that were arranged through Bradford & Bingley or Mortgage Express remain active. We are also still able to offer insurance products to new customers through our relationship with a range of partner providers and we remain committed to providing a high standard of service for all customers that remain with us.
